Privacy policy

1. What we collect

Account info (name, email, password hash, username, role), profile info you add (headline, bio, skills, experience, education, social links), resumes you upload, jobs you post or apply to, and basic usage logs (IP hash for deduped view counts, timestamps).

2. How we use it

To run the service: showing your public profile, matching you to roles, sending transactional email (OTP, application updates, recruiter alerts), moderating the platform, and improving the product. We don't sell your data.

3. Public vs private

Your profile at /u/<username> is public and indexable unless you toggle "Public profile" off in settings. Your email, applications, saved jobs, and resumes are never public. Recruiters can only see the resume you attach to an application to their own postings.

4. Resumes and files

Resumes live in S3 under a path scoped to your user ID. We generate short-lived pre-signed URLs so recruiters can view them — the bucket itself stays private. Deleting a resume in the dashboard removes both the DB row and the S3 object.

5. Email

We send transactional email via Nodemailer (OTP, application status, recruiter alerts). We don't send marketing unless you opt in from settings.

6. Analytics and cookies

We use a session cookie for authentication only. No third-party ad trackers, no fingerprinting. Job view counts are deduped by a hashed IP, not a raw one.

7. Deletion

Delete your account from settings and we remove your profile, resumes, applications, and saved jobs within 30 days. Job postings you authored as a recruiter are transferred to another company member if one exists, otherwise archived.

8. Data transfers

Technotribes Jobs is hosted in the US. If you're in the EU, your data is transferred to the US under standard contractual clauses.

9. Security

We encrypt passwords with bcrypt, serve everything over HTTPS, use short-lived pre-signed URLs for file access, and rate-limit sensitive endpoints. Report suspected issues to security@technotribes.jobs.
